Barrington keeps rolling in MSL West

Adam Glader had 6 kills, Joe Roeckell had 4 and Sean Frey 3 to lead Barrington's attack in a 25-9, 25-18 boys volleyball victory over Hoffman Estates on Tuesday in Mid-Suburban West play.

The outcome clinched at least a share of the West title for the Broncos, who improved to 8-0 in league play.

Justin Tiao and Justin Glader each had 2 aces for Barrington while Sean Frey and TJ Murray had 2 blocks apiece.

Setting the Broncos' offense were Noah Ricchetti (11 assists) and Matt Rowley (7 assists).

Mikey Stefan collected 6 digs and James Tiao had 5.

Matt Stacy, Brian Girard and Kevin Lancor had 3 kills apiece for the Hawks, while Hardik Patel had 5 setting assists and Stacy had a team-best 4 digs.

Hersey d. Rolling Meadows: The MSL East co-leading Huskies (19-3, 6-2) won 25-21, 25-21 as the attack was led by Alec Horne (7 kills), Bart Migus (6 kills), Angelo Coniglio (6 kills) and Josh Mailloux (5).

Hersey setter Peter Wesolowski had 26 assists.

Jeff Waisgainis (8 kills), Trevor Glasgow (7) and Tommy Murphy (6) lead the Mustangs' hitting effort, while Enrique Avellaneda had 14 assists on 45-for-49 setting along with 2 service aces and Marc Quezada provided 6 digs.

Schaumburg d. Conant: Schaumburg's boys volleyball team evened its record to 4-4 in the MSL West and 17-13 overall with a 25-20, 25-19 victory over Conant.

Bozhadar Kolev put down 8 kills and was 9-of-9 serving with 2 aces for the Saxons.

Schaumburg's Nidbin Thomas had 6 kills with 12 assists while teammate Sam Smith handed out 10 assists. Pafal Ogurek was 19-of-19 passing.

Tim Breiter finished with 7 kills for Conant. Other Cougars leaders included J.T. Levitt (10 digs), Chris Wegenek (4 blocks) and Nate Armando (13 assists).

Elk Grove d. Wheeling: The Grenadiers recorded a 25-19, 25-20 MSL East victory over Wheeling. which was led on defense by Matt Schiferl (26 digs) and Kyle Bagarella (13), who also had 9 assists and 1 ace.

Michael Lechowicz had 6 kills for Wheeling (3-22, 0-8) and teammate Jesus Zacarias put down 2.

Elk Grove (18-8, 5-3) got a big hitting effort from Geoffrey Dybicz (14-15, 9 kills) and Kevin Braceros (8-9, 5 kills) along with 25 assists from Ray Kraus and 7 digs and 3 aces from Anthony Prochenski.
