Maine West tops Maine East in three

Maine West's girls volleyball team capped a 5-5 season in the Central Suburban North on Wednesday night by defeating Maine East 25-22, 26-28, 25-16 in Des Plaines.

The Warriors finish their regular season at 12-23 overall and opens play in the Hersey regional on Monday against Hoffman Estates.

Leyden d. Proviso East: The Eagles improved their record to 23-11 and 4-2 in the West Suburban Gold with a 25-16, 25-10 victory over Proviso East in Maywood.
