Pirron, Lake Zurich handle Lake Forest

Abby Pirron picked up a double-double, and Lake Zurich's girls basketball team opened North Suburban Conference Lake Division action with a 41-18 win over visiting Lake Forest on Friday night.

Pirron scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, as the Bears snapped a three-game losing streak. Vanessa DiVincenzo scored a game-high 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting for Lake Zurich (3-3). Rachel Kuhr added 6 points and 5 rebounds.

The Bears held the Scouts to single-digit points in each quarter.

Lake Forest was led by Delaney Williams' 8 points.

Antioch 59, Round Lake 39: Amy Reiser scored 17 points, Ashley Reiser dished out 8 assists and added 5 points, and the Sequoits won easily in North Suburban Prairie action.

Antioch (8-0, 2-0) built a 27-point lead in the first quarter. Four of the Sequoits' starters scored from behind the three-point arc before sitting the remainder of the game. Antioch hit a season-high nine 3-pointers. Olivia Ori came off the bench to score a career-high 8 points, while Megan Kelly put in seven of her own.

Round Lake's Miyah Johnson led all scorers with 20 points.
