Plaza signs with Schaumburg Boomers

Scott Plaza, a native of Arlington Heights who pitched UW-Whitewater to a Division III championship last year, has been signed by the Schaumburg Boomers for the 2015 season.

Plaza, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound Prospect High School grad, pitched the deciding game in the D-III national championlship last year, earning the win in a 7-0 complete game shutout over Emory. Pitching on three days rest, Plaza allowed 7 hits, 2 walks, and recorded 9 strikeouts.
