A Lombard man who died when a wheel struck the vehicle he was traveling in on I-90 in Wisconsin has been identified as Mark C. Bolan, 55. Bolan died after a wheel from another vehicle came loose and flew through the windshield, striking him. Full story.
Elgin officer fired after FB posts on Ferguson, MLK day
A 17-year Elgin police officer accused of making Facebook posts that had racial connotations, including one about last month's shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, was fired last night. Officer Jason A. A Naperville man who damaged the Aurora traffic control facility Friday before trying to take his own life was described yesterday in court as deeply troubled by his attorney. Female jockey punches another at Arlington Park
A female jockey upset with another female jockey after practice on Friday at Arlington Park was punched in the face after confronting the other woman, police reported yesterday. Naperville smart meter opponent's trial begins
The trial of a Naperville woman accused of struggling with officers attempting to arrest her continues this morning. It began yesterday with allegations Malia "Kim" Bendis elbowed a police officer in the chest during her struggle, which prosecutors said began when police tried to place Bendis under arrest after she refused to stop filming the January 2013 arrest of another Naperville woman who refused to let workers install a smart meter on her home and resisted her own arrest. Construction underway at Wrigley
Chain-linked fence circled Wrigley Field Monday as a massive $575 million construction project got underway. Improvements will include new bleachers and seven outfield signs - one of which will be bigger than the old manual scoreboard in center field. Full story.
Barrington Hills police officer on leave
A Barrington Hills police officer has been put on administrative leave after his arrest last week on domestic battery charges. Gary A.
