Motorcyclist hurt in Route 59 crash near W. Chicago

A motorcyclist was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after a crash involving a car near West Chicago.

The crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. at Route 59 and James Avenue, West Chicago Fire Batallion Chief Jeff Buccola said. The motorcycle driver was taken to Central DuPage Hospital with serious injuries, he said.

All southbound lanes of Route 59 from James Avenue to Hawthorne Lane were closed while DuPage sheriff's deputies investigated.
