Crystal Lake man accused of intentionally killing kitten
A Crystal Lake man has been charged with intentionally killing a newborn kitten at his home, which is a rescue shelter for cats, police said.
Crystal Lake police responded to a domestic disturbance at the home at around 2:30 p.m. Friday on the 100 block of Briarwood Circle, police said.
Axel J. Salemi, 18, was "in an agitated state of mind" when he intentionally caused the death of the kitten, police said.
Salemi was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal damage to property, both felonies. He remains at the McHenry County Correctional Facility on $20,000 bail.
