West Chicago Fire Dist. collecting tornado relief items

The West Chicago Fire Protection District will be accepting donations for DeKalb County tornado relief from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through April 18 at Fire Station 6, 200 Fremont St., officials said Friday.

Items being accepted are bottled water, nonperishable food donations, new or slightly used clothing, toiletries, paper goods and gift cards. Items will be delivered by members of the fire protection district when they get the OK from emergency teams at the scene.
