Streamwood trustee race now uncontested

Streamwood village trustee candidates John D. Gallione and Mark L. Whipple have been removed from the ballot after a determination of deficiencies in their nominating petitions, leaving the April 6 race uncontested for now.

Village Clerk Kittie Kopitke said she's received no notification of appeals to the decision or filings for write-in candidacies. The deadline for the latter is Feb. 4.

On the ballot are incumbent trustees Michael Baumer and William Harper, along with prior trustee candidate Rezwanul Haque.

Kopitke and Village President Billie Roth also are uncontested in their reelection bids.
