Mt. Prospect chamber Dynamic Year lunch Thursday

The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce will host its version of the Oscars next week - the annual Dynamic Year Luncheon, which honors the most impressive local businesses of the year.

The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Bristol Place Banquets, 828 E. Rand Road in Mount Prospect. Mayor Arlene Juracek is expected to give a speech about the business climate in town, and recent success stories from the ongoing Young Entrepreneur's Academy program will be highlighted.

The centerpiece, though, will be the business awards. Last year, the chamber honored Susan Dozier, a vice-president at American Chartered Bank, as the Business Leader of the Year, Vista Linda Eye Care as Business of the Year and Jeanine Molinelli of Hampton Inn & Suites as recipient of the Chairman's Award.

The chamber is asking attendees to bring food items for the Mount Prospect Food Pantry, which needs replenishment after the holiday season. Items requested include canned fruit, canned refried beans, instant mashed potatoes and peanut butter.

Attendance at the lunch costs $25, and registration is due Tuesday, Jan. 6. Go to mountprospectchamber.org for information.
