Girls volleyball: Season-opening setbacks for Hersey, Barrington

Libertyville's girls volleyball team received 9 kills from Allison Watson and 19 assists from setter Anna Lillydahl to defeat visiting Hersey 25-19, 25-22 in each team's season opener.

Senior Liz Fuerst led the Huskies' attack with 5 kills, followed by sophomore Amy Morgan (4) and junior Zoe Strozewski (3) while junior Maggie Reisel was 45-of-46 setting with 14 assists.

Senior Katie Rozanski led the Huskies with 3 blocks while sophomore Emma Frankiewicz had a team-high 10 digs and an ace.

Stevenson d. Barrington: Jori Radtke put down a match-high 6 kills to pace Stevenson to a 25-17, 25-10 victory over the visiting Fillies (0-1) in the season opener.
