Five years for second man charged in Naperville armed robbery
A Naperville man charged with two armed robberies reported in one week in May at the same 7-Eleven in Naperville, was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday.
Adam Zace, 30, of the 400 block of Kiowa Drive, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated robbery with a dangerous weapon or firearm.
Zace and co-defendant Kyle L. McGill, 28, of the 800 block of Gladstone Avenue in Aurora, were arrested May 23, one day after the second armed robbery was reported at the 7-Eleven at 351 E. Bailey Road.
Naperville police said Zace entered the convenience store at 10:07 a.m. on May 22 and implied he had a weapon, but did not show one, before leaving with an undisclosed amount of money.
In the first robbery, reported at 7:21 a.m. May 15, Zace, wearing a ski mask, a black coat and black and white gym shoes, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
Bond was set at $25,000 for Zace and $20,000 for McGill.
McGill, believed to be the getaway driver, pleaded guilty on Oct. 3 to one count of aggravated robbery with a dangerous weapon or firearm and was sentenced to 180 days in jail and two years of probation.
