Stevenson stops Palatine

Stevenson's girls volleyball team posted a 25-9, 25-17 nonconference victory at Palatine on Monday night.

The Mid-Suburban West leading Pirates (16-7, 6-0), who travel to Schaumburg (13-6, 5-1) today for a 6 p.m. match, were led on attack by Claire Chaplinsky (3 kills), Heather Holz (2 kills) and Sydney Christiansen (2 kills, 4 assists). Alyssa Kronberg added 3 assists for Palatine.

Jori Radtke put down a match-high 10 kills for the Patriots who improved to 22-6.

Home School League: The Rockford Fire posted a 23-25, 25-19, 25-19 over the Northland Royals, who were led on attack by Carissa Kern (12 kills), Lydia Schiller (8) and Anais Deac (5).

Lizzy Kiernicki (12 assists) and Keri Nicholson (10 assists) set the Royals offense while teammate Emily Baldwin collected 32 digs.
