Pets can pose with Santa Saturday

Pets of all types are invited to Animal Feeds and Needs, 401 W. Golf Road, Arlington Heights for digital photos with Santa from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

For $10, all participants will receive an 8 by 10 sheet of pictures and can select any combination of sizes they want, from 5 by 7 to wallet. Proceeds will go to Petable Adoptions, a shelter based in Arlington Heights which benefits homeless pets throughout the Northwest suburbs.

Montessori hosts open house

Alexander Graham Bell Montessori School will be hosting two open houses from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday at 2020 E. Camp McDonald Road, Mount Prospect. These open houses will focus on the Parent-Toddler program. Parents can bring their children (ages 0-3) to experience a day in the classroom. The open house will include information on the Montessori philosophy of education as well as a brief tour of the school facility. Call (847) 297-4660.

Wheeling presents holiday concert

Wheeling High School's Orchestras and Choirs will combine their talents in a festive holiday concert on at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school's Robert Sang Theatre. Madrigal Singers will perform preconcert music in the lobby.

Seasonal music includes: "Sleigh Ride," "Believe" from Polar Express, and Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus," featuring both the orchestras and choirs. Directors are Heather Pistorius (choral ensembles) and Elizabeth Magill (orchestras).

Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door. Season passes will also be accepted. Call (847) 718-7000.

Police looking for graffiti vandals

Sometime during the weekend of Dec. 8 and 9 a vandal spray painted graffiti on a village parking garage and at two parks. The locations were the parking garage at 35 S. Evergreen, and Heritage and Pioneer Parks. The vandalism included painting the words OFL, KRAZ and GNAR.

Anyone having information about this crime, or any other serious crime should call Arlington Heights CrimeStoppers at (847) 590-STOP. Callers are guaranteed anonymity and may qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Pot of Gold Raffle starts in January

The Rolling Meadows Senior Center is sponsoring a Pot of Gold Raffle during 2008. Purchase each raffle ticket at $20 each and be eligible for regular monthly drawings starting January and continuing monthly through December 2008. There will be four monthly cash awards of $100, $50, $25 and $25. Drawings are held the first Thursday of each month. Winners need not be present for the drawing and will be notified individually.
