Despite denials, we engage in torture
Rendition: The CIA (or who knows who) takes a guy who has been convicted of no crime, and manhandles the detainee and strips him naked. He is then drugged with suppositories, strapped with adult diapers, blindfolded, strapped into an airplane and taken to a black site for "interrogation" by "our boys."
Extraordinary rendition: This is the same as above, only instead of "our boys" doing the questioning, the "it" (which is how the Nazis referred to the Jews in order to inflict their inhumanity on them sans guilt) is handed over to one of our "allies" who have no legal barrier to torture. The subject is then tortured. "Our boys" are sometimes in the same room, but rumor has it that they turn the other way in order to provide them with "plausible deniability." Nice, huh?
So please, people, just because the White House says, "We don't torture" does not make it so.
Here's a good lesson for life: Whenever you hear the words, "plausible deniability" chances are there is some felonious activity taking place.
I have an education steeped in history from before Biblical times which is why I'm aware of how city, states and nations have overstepped their bounds to their own detriment and destruction.
I do not wish to see this great country of ours follow down this path. I'm not a member of any "crowd." I love my country. That's why I try to make it a better place.
