Fund set up for Lake Villa girl
A fund has been established to help Lake Villa 15-year-old Taylor Granitz, who traveled to Arizona Friday to undergo surgery to treat a rare cystic brain disease.
The Taylor Granitz fund will help with travel expenses, medical fees not covered by insurance and legal fees.
The fund has been established at Lake Villa Community Bank, 345 S. Milwaukee Ave., Lake Villa. For details, call (847) 265-0300.
Police offer classes for parents of teens
Mundelein police will host its second Parent Police Academy starting Jan. 29.
This program will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays for five weeks. Topics for the classes include domestic issues, drug education, gang education, and Internet safety.

Donate toys for kids in Mundelein
Vernon Hills residents are encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program. Drop-offs can be made until Dec. 18 at the police department, 754 Lakeview Parking (24 hours) or from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the village hall, 290 Evergreen Drive.
