NAMI-DuPage will offer the 12-week Family-to-Family educational program from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 3 to March 20, at Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville. The free program is geared to families and caregivers of people with serious mental illnesses. The National Alliance on Mental Illness is a not-for-profit organization that works to improve the lives of those affected by mental illness. Registration is required. 'Misery' tryouts next week:
The Albright Theatre will hold auditions for "Misery" at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the theater, 100 N. Island Ave., third floor, Batavia. The play, written by Simon Moore, is based on Stephen King's book about fandom gone awry. Two roles are available: Paul, a man age 30 to 60 and Annie, a woman age 30 to 60. Kids who love pets needed
The Hinsdale Humane Society is accepting applications for its new Junior Humane Society program for children in grades five through eight who love animals. The group will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month, Jan. 8 to May 13, at the Hinsdale Youth Center, 229 Symonds Drive. Cost is $25.
