State spending robs Peter to pay Pal

I continue to read about our non-budget in Illinois and in Cook County and the continued spending by our absentee leader, Gov. Rod Blagojevich and the proposed tax increases by the Cook County President Todd Stroger.

This is not spending on existing programs but new or expanded programs.

Then, today, I worked the Cryptoquote in the Daily Herald and found the logic used by the governor and Mr. Stroger in a quote attributed to George Bernard Shaw. "A government that robs from Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul."

Governor, there are not that many Pauls left in the state and if you and Mr. Stroger continue, there will be even fewer.
