Malfunction cuts power to thousands
An extensive power outage Friday evening in Crystal Lake left about 2,400 customers without power for more than an hour, ComEd officials said.
The outage, which lasted from 5:09 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., was caused by malfunctioning equipment, ComEd said.
The power affected the northeast area of Crystal Lake along Oak Street, Route 31 and Route 14, said Acting Battalion Fire Chief Robert Olszewski.
