Is Jonathan Toews ready to be captain?

Coach Denis Savard named Jonathan Toews one of the Blackhawks alternate captains for December, an amazing honor for a rookie. Do you have any concerns about a rookie being considered a team captain, or was this an inevitable occurrence.
