Lakemoor police seek abduction suspect
Lakemoor police are looking for a man who reportedly grabbed a boy Monday after he got off a school bus then forced him into a car.
Once in the vehicle, the man drove the 11-year-old boy about two miles away then abruptly dropped him off.
The only time he spoke to the child was to tell him to "get out of the car," Lakemoor Police Sgt. Rick Iverson said.
The boy was not injured.
According to the report, the boy got off the school bus at about 3 p.m. and was grabbed by the man driving a blue or black four-door car a few moments later near Hollywood Terrace and Sunnyside Road.
The boy described the man as being 5 feet 11 inches to 6-feet-tall, between 120 and 150 pounds, and said he was wearing a snowmobile-style knit mask that covered half his face, a brown button three-quarter-length coat and black gloves. Iverson said the boy didn't know the man and did not recognize the car.
The pair drove about two miles to Chapel Hill Road and Route 120 when the man pulled over, told the boy to get out, before driving away, he said.
A sketch of the suspect was sent to area police departments after the attack Monday but Iverson said none of the agencies has reported having a similar incident.
