Donate yarn to knitters for charity projects

Crafters -- is your house overflowing with yarn?

Senior Services has the answer to this predicament. There are some ladies looking for extra yarn they can use to knit and crochet lap robes for nursing home residents and scarves and mittens for Head Start students.

You can drop off your excess yarn anytime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Senior Services, 3519 N. Richmond Road. Ask for Debbie Danitz.

Volunteer Sheila Kerry recently made a trip to deliver crocheted doll clothes to the Head Start site in Woodstock. She said the children were so excited they immediately started dressing the baby dolls.

For more information, call Danitz at (800) 339-3200 or (815) 344-3555.
