Mount Prospect Housewalk to start holiday festivities

The Mount Prospect Historical Society will celebrate a milestone on Nov. 30 when it hosts its 20th annual Holiday Housewalk.

This year six beautiful homes along several blocks of Lonnquist Boulevard, east of Route 83, and one home on South Main Street will be featured. The traditional kick-off of Mount Prospect's Winter Weekend, which culminates in the Saturday night Winter Parade, the housewalk will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m., Nov. 30.

The homes featured this year, both inside and outside, are: 1 E. Lonnquist Blvd., owned by Brian and Amy McPartlin; 3 W. Lonnquist Blvd., owned by Frank and Sandy Savaiano; 707 S. Main St., owned by Robert and Mary Caldrone; 12 W. Lonnquist Blvd., owned by Tom and Cathy Wiemann; 20 W. Lonnquist Blvd., owned by Curt and Andrea Johnson; and 115 W. Lonnquist Blvd., owned by Gregory and Colleen Staeck.

Tickets will be sold for $20 each through Nov. 29 at Midwest Bank, 50 N. Main St.; MB Financial Bank, 15 E. Prospect Ave.; Busse Flowers and Gifts, 320 E. Northwest Hwy.; A Perfect Petal, 108 S. Main St.; Brie's Gift Gallery, 874 E. Northwest Hwy.; River Trails' Weiss Center, 1500 E. Euclid Ave.; Lions Park Recreation Center, 411 S. Maple St.; RecPlex, 420 W. Dempster St.; and the Dietrich Friedrichs House museum, 101 S. Maple St.

Society members may purchase their tickets for a discounted price of $18 but they may only be purchased at the museum and may not be purchased on the day of the walk.

On the day of the walk, all tickets will cost $22 and may only be purchased at the starting point of the walk after 3 p.m. For details, call (847) 392-9006.
