Authorities exhume body of Bolingbrook cop's third wife

Workers have exhumed the body of the ex-wife of a suburban Chicago police officer whose current wife disappeared two weeks ago.

A crane was used to hoist Kathleen Savio's casket from a plot at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside.

A spokesman for the Will County prosecutor's office says authorities are at the scene supervising the process.

Savio was the ex-wife of Bolingbrook Police Sergeant Drew Peterson. She was found dead in her bathtub in 2004.

State's Attorney James Glasgow says evidence suggests that someone killed Savio and tried to make it look like an accident.

Investigators reopened her case after Stacy Peterson disappeared last month.
