Four-vehicle collision leaves bus driver injured

A four-vehicle collision involving a bus left one person injured Thursday in Bartlett, authorities said.

Kelly Habighurst, 23, of Roselle, was taken to St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates where she was treated and released. Habighurst also received a ticket for failing to yield while turning left after the accident that occurred around 10:30 a.m. at Route 59 and Route 20.

According to a statement issued by Bartlett police, Habighurst, who was driving the bus with no passengers, was attempting to turn left from Route 59 onto Route 20 and failed to yield to a Mack dump truck that was traveling south on Route 59.

The dump truck, trying to avoid the bus, swerved and struck the front of a 1998 Volvo tractor trailer. The trailer was waiting to turn north onto Route 59 from Route 20, the statement said.

Due to the force of the impact, the Volvo truck was then pushed into a 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra that was waiting to turn south on Route 59.
