Lord of Life Church begins a new three-week message series "Positive Energy!" on Sunday. The church is at Route 38 and LaFox Road (three miles west of Randall Road) in LaFox.

Sunday worship is at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. The Sunday morning messages are also online at www.lolchurch.net.

A staffed nursery is available for all three services. Adult Bible studies and Sunday School for age 3 through eighth grade are at 9:30 a.m.

Children are invited to Celebration Church featuring the Lord of Life puppet ministry at 11 a.m. Adults can attend the "I Have Good News for You" membership class at 11 a.m.

• Immanuel Lutheran Church, 950 Hart Road in Batavia, will have Thanksgiving worship at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 21 and at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 22 in the sanctuary.

• The annual service of Lessons and Carols will be at 3 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8 in the sanctuary of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 950 Hart Road, Batava.

Music for Advent and Christmas will be presented by two adult and two children's choirs, a hand bell choir and instrumentalists. Those attending are invited to participate in the singing of Advent hymns and Christmas carols.

The identical free programs are organized by music director Sharon Dalpini, who directs several choirs. An offering will be received. The public is invited.
