Baseball

Coaches wanted:ŒElk Grove Travelers, a not-for-profit organization, is currently searching for coaches for its part-time travel teams. The program usually runs from January through July. Practices are held indoors at least once a week in January and February and outdoors in March. Anyone interested, should send their sports resumes to Steve Brandt at sjbrandt@sbcglobal.net.

Basketball

Feeder tryouts:ŒProspect High School Junior Knights boys and girls basketball feeder team tryouts will be held Dec. 1 and 2 at the school, 801 W. Kensington Road, Mount Prospect. Players must live within attendance boundaries of Prospect High School. Boys teams will be selected for current sixth- seventh- and eighth-graders. Girls teams will be selected for current fifth-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders.

Feeder tryouts:ŒThe Rolling Meadows Junior Mustangs will conduct tryouts for the boys and girls sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade feeder basketball teams Dec. 2 and 9 at Rolling Meadows High School, 2901 W. Central Road. All sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade boys and girls in the Rolling Meadows High School attendance area are encouraged to attend.

Sixth-grade tryouts will be from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. both days (fifth-graders are welcome but preference will be given to sixth-graders.) Seventh-grade tryouts will be 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days, and eighth-grade tryouts from 12:45 to 2 p.m. both days.

Feeder tryouts:ŒHersey Feeder Basketball tryouts for boys in sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grades will be held at the following times on both Dec. 15 and 16 in the East Gym at Hersey High School, 1900 E. Thomas, Arlington Heights.

• sixth grade -- noon to 1:45 p.m.

• seventh grade -- 2 to 3:45 p.m.

• eighth-grade -- 4 to 5:45 p.m.

Diving

Preregistration: A Pre-Team Novice Group Level 3 diving class will be offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday beginning Nov. 28 through Feb. 13 at Stevenson High School. This class is for those who have been in the Advanced Learn to Dive Class and want to increase practice time bit aren't ready to join the team. The class is available upon instructor recommendation at a cost of $275. Preregistration is required.

Water polo

Registration:ŒPAC Masters Level Water Polo will be offered at Stevenson High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Nov. 27 to Feb. 21. The program is offered to high school, collegiate and adult water polo players at a competitive level. The Senior program offered at two levels is Green (high school and newer players), Gold (collegiate and more experienced players). The cost is $150 for residents and $250 for non-residents. Preregistration is required.
