Health care is a family responsibility

Re: "House can't override kids' health care veto", Daily Herald, Oct. 19.

Why do you want to take responsibility away from the families? The government should not be paying family bills. The statement, "You either stand with our children or you stand against them" is faulty. I believe families should take care of their own situations. It also instills responsibilities into the learning process of children.

It sounds like you are trying to have a communism nation. The government should stay out of the personal things of a family. We have Medicare and Medicaid, that's enough. There are many other ways a family in need can get help, through other family members, churches, and there is help through other non-government related organizations that are out there ready to help.

Keep the government out of our private lives. Too much government keeps people from wanting to help one another. We need to build responsibility in our children.
