Lake County Bar Association Welcomes New Executive Director

The Lake County Bar Association Board of Directors, along with its Foundation Trustees, welcomed Greg Weider as their new Executive Director. Weider succeeds Dale Perrin, who departed in December. He will work with the Association's 12-member Board of Directors in administering the organization's programs and services, which provide support, education and networking opportunities to the legal community, as well as outreach to the public. Weider will also work with the Lake County Bar Foundation, the philanthropic arm and sister organization of the LCBA. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting the charitable and educational purposes of the Association.

To search for a new Executive Director, the Lake County Bar Association Board approved the creation of a nominating committee, which reviewed over 50 applications. "The nominating committee worked tirelessly over the course of several weeks, which included two rounds of interviews for the finalists. The Boards are thankful that Greg Weider accepted the position, and it is evident that he is a wonderful fit for both organizations," stated President Patricia L. Cornell.

Mr. Weider brings extensive experience in working with community-based organizations, and in managing nonprofits. He has 20 years' experience as an executive director. "This is an exciting time at the LCBA, and I am energized by the Association's efforts to enhance the equal access to justice and promote greater diversity among the bar and the judiciary," stated Weider. "I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, the Foundation Trustees and the Association's Committees to meet the needs of our members." Mr. Weider received a BA in Social Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University.

The Lake County Bar Association was founded in 1912 and is headquartered in Waukegan Illinois. The Association has a membership of over 800 individuals. Among other goals, the Association's members seek to foster respect for the administration of law, to increase attorneys' and the public's knowledge of law through continuing legal education, and to uphold the honor and dignity of the legal profession.
