Police task force raids Fox Lake house

A Fox Lake man was arrested after members of the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group served a search warrant at his house and found cocaine.

Larry Lindenman, director of the multi-jurisdictional task force, said lawmen found about 10 ounces of the drug during an initial sweep of the home on Marvin Street.

Lindenman said community complaints about activity at the house led to an investigation that went on for a "couple of weeks" leading up to Wednesday's raid.

He also said the warrant was served with the help of the Northern Illinois Police Alert System Emergency Services Team, but the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

"We utilized the NIPAS team because we were concerned about potential violence," Lindenman said.

The man is believed to be a member of a notorious motorcycle gang, police officials said.

Authorities were still on scene late in the evening conducting a more thorough search of the residence. Lindenman said charges were pending against the man, but until then he wouldn't release the man's identity.
