Barrington roars to swim honors
In almost a clean sweep, Barrington scored 364 points to win its own invitational and edge runner-up Lyons (307) and Fenwick (238). Schaumburg (110) finished six teams back.
Kim Steelman had swims of 1:58.72 in the 200-yard freestyle and 54.71 in the 100 free for a couple of individual firsts.
Alexa Hamilton added two more firsts, winning the IM (2:09.65) and breaststroke (1:06.19). Steelman and Hamilton swam with Sam Simon and Sara Fogle to close out the meet with a 3:41.99 win the 400 free relay.
Boys soccer
Conant 1, Buffalo Grove 0: A second-half goal by Zach Raetzman was all the host Cougars needed in their Mid-Suburban League match against Buffalo Grove. The goal came off Tony Rizzo's assist and stood thanks to the goalkeeping of Cougars junior Josh Summers.
Glenbrook South 2, Wheeling 1: Abraham Soto's goals from Joel Deltoro's assist wasn't enough for the visiting Wildcats (12-9). Ricardo Ballesteros kept busy in goal where he collected 10 saves for Wheeling.
