House fire near Naperville causes $100,000 in damage
No injuries were reported Wednesday in a fire that caused an estimated $100,000 damage to a house at 29W176 103rd St. near south Naperville.
Naperville firefighters said they received a 911 call at 11:18 a.m. and arrived three minutes later to find smoke and flames coming from the home's eaves and attached garage.
Firefighters searched the interior but everyone already had escaped safely.
Firefighters said they found the main body of fire in the garage, although it also had spread to the home's attic. Crews extinguished the blaze within 15 minutes, but remained on the scene for more than an hour. Twenty-nine firefighters responded.
An inspector from the Will County Building Department has deemed the house uninhabitable, authorities said.
Investigators still are probing the cause of the blaze.
