District 128 notes

Community education: Community High School District 128's Community Education Program has formed a partnership with Stevenson High School that allows District 128 community education students to participate in culinary/cultural day trips to Chicago's China and Greek towns.

Cooking instructor Jonathan Bean will lead the tours that include a discussion of the area to be visited and the foods to find there, a walking tour of the community, shopping in local stores and a fine dining experience.

The Community Education department also partners with District 214 to provide travel experiences. This year's tours include visits to Antarctica; Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula; Cubs spring training in Mesa, Ariz.; Switzerland, Bavaria and Austria; a Canadian trip that includes a train trip through the Rockies; California's coast line; South Africa; and Victoria Falls.
