Two crash victims critical
Two men remained in critical condition at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Friday after a three-vehicle accident during rush hour Thursday in Hoffman Estates, police said. Hoffman Estates police Sgt. Carl Baumert said a Ford Explorer going north on Barrington Road crashed head-on into a Chevrolet S-10 pickup around 5 p.m. near the entrance to St. Alexius Medical Center. A third vehicle, identified as a passenger car, rear-ended the pickup. Baumert didn't identify the victims. A helicopter flew the Ford driver to Lutheran General, while the driver of the Chevrolet and the car were driven to St. Alexius, Baumert said. The Chevrolet's driver was later flown to Lutheran General, Baumert added, while the third male victim was treated and released.
