Intruder assaults Schaumburg woman in bed
Schaumburg police continued Tuesday to search for man who sexually assaulted a woman in her bed while she slept.
According to police reports, the victim was asleep in a first-floor bedroom of her home on Bahama Court when was woken by a stranger about 10 a.m. Thursday.
The intruder, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and black gloves, took out a pocketknife, put a pillow over the victim's face, assaulted her and slashed her on the arm with the knife, police said.
The assailant is believed to have entered the home through an open garage door.
The victim was treated for injuries at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
The offender is thought to be in his late 20s with closely cropped, dark brown hair.
