Ingleside man bleeds to death

An Ingleside man is dead after reportedly falling in his garage and piercing a blood vessel.

Thomas Day, 37, bled to death about 10 p.m. Saturday, Lake County Coroner Richard Keller said.

"He fell against a shelving bracket in his garage and lacerated a major blood vessel in his arm," Keller said.

Day, who lived on the 300 block of Washington Street, reportedly walked across the street to the Fox Lake Fire Station.

Day was transported to the hospital, where he died, Keller said, adding he was likely intoxicated.

"That certainly could have contributed to the bleeding," Keller said. "It looks like it was just an unusual and unfortunate accident."

No information was available Sunday about memorial services for Day.
