Halloween Dodgeball Tournament: Get a team together for the National Amateur Dodgeball Association's annual "Great Pumpkin" Halloween Dodgeball Tournament, held Oct. 20 at the Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road.
Winning teams are eligible for cash awards and paid bids to the indoor National Championships in January. Registration is $120 per team, and the entry deadline is Friday. Teams are encouraged to dress up in the Halloween spirit, with prizes given for the most original "uniforms."
Teams consist of a maximum of 10 players, with six competing at any one time. NADA officials supervise all games. Check-in begins at 9 a.m., and matches start at 11 a.m. Teams may participate in men's, women's or co-rec divisions, and participants must be at least 16 years old.

Family Adventure Nights: Take the night off while 5 to 11-year-olds enjoy Adventure Nights, held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and Nov. 10 at Schaumburg Tennis Plus, 1416 N. Payne Road.
Trained staff will supervise games and sports on STP's sport court, followed by pizza and beverages in the nursery.
Cost is $15 per session ($22 nonresident). Register for all three nights for $39 ($59 nonresident).

"Joseph" tickets on sale: "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" will be presented by the Schaumburg Park District Actor's Studio Theater Nov. 23-25 and Dec. 3-4 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg.
Tickets are on sale at the CRC north registration counter. Cost is $11 for adults and $6 for youth (up to 12 yrs.). Show times are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23-24 and Dec. 3, and 2 p.m. Nov. 25 and Dec. 4.

Online registration: Schaumburg Park District resident registration for classes and events can be done with the online and telephone registration system, (i)SPOT.
The system is available from the District's Web site, parkfun.com, or by touch-tone telephone at (847) 524-4200.
Users may check account balances, view account history, and register for programs. All functions are performed within a secure connection.
Each family has an identifying account PIN number, and each member their own client code number -- both necessary to register for programs. To set up a new account, visit the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg, and fill out a registration card or online form. Identification and proof of district residency is required.
Residents who wish to use the online system should visit parkfun.com and click on the (i)SPOT dog logo to begin. Touch-tone users may call (847) 524-4200 and follow the prompts.

Sundays at the Cabin: The Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road, invites families to take part in the Schaumburg Park District's "Sundays at the Cabin" program, held from 1 to 4 p.m.
Held at the log cabin, located just a short walk from the visitor center, trained volunteers are on hand to recount the history of the site.
Activities include a Foodways demonstration on the first Sunday of the month, illustrating early American hearth cooking and food preparation. On remaining Sundays, participants will make a simple craft to take home. The admission fee is $1 or less.

Fitness One group classes: The Schaumburg Park District's Fitness One group classes will be held at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, and Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way, in Schaumburg.
Kickboxing, Cardio Combo and Abs N' Ends will kick start the metabolism and ramp up energy, all while toning up muscles and creating more flexibility. All group classes are available to Fitness One pass holders, available from $56.25 to $139.50 ($71.25 to $173.25 nonresident).
