Lake in the Hills man dies in Elgin crash

A 52-year-old Lake in the Hills man died Wednesday night when his car rolled over on Route 20 just east of State Street in Elgin, police said.

Glen M. Gyurin, of the 4300 block of Larkspur Lane, was pronounced dead just before 9 p.m. at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Kane County coroner's officials said.

The preliminary cause of death is blunt head, neck and chest trauma, officials said.

Elgin police say Gyurin's car was seen weaving through traffic before the accident.

Toxicology samples were sent to a lab for analysis, coroner's officials said.

"A reconstruction of the traffic accident was done Wednesday evening and Route 20 was shut down for several hours," police spokeswoman Ann Dinges said. "There's still further investigation into what might have happened."

Funeral information was not immediately available on Thursday.
