Briefs: Elgin neighbors meet

Elgin's South West Area Neighbors will meet at 7 p.m. Monday to discuss issues related to code enforcement and crime-free housing. Elgin police Sgt. Gary Neal and Vince Cuchetto and Debbie Arneson from the city's code enforcement department will be on hand to address some recent concerns. Firefighters open house

Lean breakfast club at MCC

You've heard of the Brat Pack, but what about the Lean Breakfast Club? McHenry Community College's Shah Center, a job training center that opened last year, is hosting the third quarter Lean Manufacturing Breakfast Club at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Representatives form local businesses will share their experiences implementing lean manufacturing principles. TC Industries Operations Manager Eldon Johnson will present "It's a Lean Emergency … And Leadership is the Cure." The cost to attend is $10. You must be an employee of a manufacturing firm to attend.
