Golfers hit the links for charity
The second annual Carlin Nalley Foundation Golf Outing will be Sept. 29 at the Links at Carillon in Plainfield.
The foundation has teamed this year with the Lisle Booster Club to host the outing that begins with check-in at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., followed by a reception and silent auction at 6 p.m., a 7 p.m. pig roast and golf awards.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $70 for golf and $30 for dinner. Donations of silent auction items and monetary donations are welcome.
Registration is open through Sept. 27.
Golf will be a best-ball scramble format with two divisions. One division is open to any group of four players, the other is a mixed scramble of ladies and men. Registration is available on-line or by contacting the golf committee at its Web site.
The Carlin Nalley Scholarship Fund was established by Lisle High School alums in 2005 to honor former Lisle coach and Superintendent Carlin Nalley.
Since its inception, $30,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Lisle High School student-athletes who received the Brian Piccolo and Babe Didricksen-Zaharias Awards starting in 2005. Each of the four award winners received $5,000 toward their college education in Nalley's name.
