Academy to offer kids violin lessons

The Schaumburg Academy of Music is offering monthly group violin classes for ages 4 to 7. Classes will be held Mondays and Tuesdays, taught by Lisa Malmquest Gauslow.

Students will learn the parts of the violin and names of the strings, play interactive musical games, and learn and perform songs with classmates. It costs $15 per class.

Also starting soon will be a contemporary band course, taught by Tom Skupien. The hour-long classes run for 10 weeks. The entire session costs $100.
