Habitat's Restore to be at home show

Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in Elgin will be a featured booth at the annual Old House New House Home Show Friday through Sunday at Pheasant Run Resort, off Route 64, St. Charles.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7 or free for seniors ages 62 and older and children 18 and younger.

ReStore's exhibit booth, plus a portion of the show's ticket sales, are being donated to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley by Kennedy Productions in Lisle.

ReStore Elgin, 860 N. State St., is a 20,000-square-foot building materials reuse center benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley. It accepts donated new and gently used goods from retailers, manufacturers, distributors, contractors and homeowners.

Building supplies are then sold at greatly reduced prices to the general public. The store's operation generates funds to support Habitat's house building program in the northern Fox Valley area, while reducing the amount of material that would otherwise go to overflowing landfills.

The Old House New House Home Show is the largest, most innovative home show in the Chicago area. This bi-annual event has grown into a full service, one-stop shopping expo featuring more than 300 distinguished home enhancement specialists.
