Senior health fair Thursday

Seniors can check their health and well-being at a Senior Health Fair, from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Rolling Meadows Senior Center, 3705 Pheasant Drive. Blood pressure and other screenings will be available, along with free refreshments and games. The screenings are free except for a cholesterol test, which is $25. Preschooler mom group to meet

A new Mothers of Preschoolers group is starting this fall at Arlington Countryside Church in Arlington Heights. MOPS meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m. the first and third Thursday September through May at Arlington Countryside Church, 916 E. Hintz Road, Arlington Heights.

Meetings feature food, speakers and creative activities. Children are divided into age groups for stories, games, crafts, singing, and more. For information, call (847) 255-2140.

Windsor celebrates 50th anniversary

Windsor Elementary School in Arlington Heights will celebrate its 50th anniversary following the dismissal of the first day of school at 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday. Ice cream bars and Popsicles will be served.

Roosevelt 'Taste' set for Wednesday

The Institute for Continued Learning at Roosevelt University's Schaumburg campus will hold the complimentary "Taste of ICL" at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Alumni Hall, 1400 N. Roosevelt Blvd. New and returning members may register for the nine-week fall term, beginning Sept. 17.

Featured will be previews of study group topics "Winston Churchill," "Meeting Minorities," and "Comedy In Music." Other activities, such as the winter lecture series, field trips, social gatherings and discussion groups, will be discussed by Institute President Bob Allen. Membership is open to ages 50 and up. International fair focuses on energy

An international fair fundraiser will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Camelot Park, 1005 E. Suffield Drive, Arlington Heights. The fair features information on several countries. Guests will visit stations, hear kids share information on their countries and get their "passports" stamped. Passports are $5. Energy saving light bulbs, snacks and drinks will be available for sale. Proceeds will go toward recycling bins and energy-saving light bulbs for Riley School in Arlington Heights.
