Car show benefits service bureau
Youth Service Bureau is gearing up for its 11th annual Kroozers Cars for Kids Fundraiser Saturday at Woodstock Square.
City hall estimates 6,000 citizens attend. Over the years more sponsors participate, raffle prizes get bigger and more cars are on display. Last year 300 cars were there.
Wal-Mart in Woodstock donated this year's raffle prize -- a Philips 32" LCD HDTV and a Nintendo Wii.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or six for $25. There will be two separate drawings and tickets can be purchased in advance from YSB and at the event. There also will be a 50/50 cash raffle.
The Kroozers of Northern Illinois is the major sponsor. Car owners get door prizes, dash plaques and awards.
Car registration is $10 in advance and $12 on the day of the event. The forms are available online at www.ysb4kids.org or by calling (815) 338-7360.
YSB is a not-for-profit organization that has been caring for children and families for 31 years by providing affordable counseling and prevention services to the community. YSB is at 101 S. Jefferson St. in Woodstock.
