Blues worker injured in fall:

The Mount Prospect Police Department reported that a construction worker was injured after falling from a ladder Friday morning while doing work on the new Blues Bar, 2 W. Busse Ave. in Mount Prospect. The bar, which will be a theme restaurant of the 1980 film "The Blues Brothers," is currently under construction. The worker was not identified and the extent of the injuries was not immediately known but were not believed to be life-threatening.

Lindbergh vote delayed:

Hoffman Estates trustees won't make any decisions about the Lindbergh Schoolhouse at Monday's board meeting. Instead, the 78-year-old building's fate could be determined during an Aug. 13 committee meeting, Mayor William McLeod said. The Planning, Building and Zoning Committee is scheduled to make a recommendation that night on the future of the old schoolhouse, with the village board taking a formal vote on that recommendation Aug. 20. The village could vote to raze the building or offer to help preservationists restore the one-room schoolhouse, which some argue has historical value.

Bartlett National Night Out: More than 10,000 towns across the U.S. are to take part in National Night Out Tuesday, but Bartlett earns national recognition for its celebration, which began Friday and spans five days. The village is hosting a series of events including a tailgate, flashlight walk, pool party, skate park competition and picnic in the park in an effort to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness. About 25 neighborhoods will host block parties and police will pick the best based on how well a neighborhood is lit, participation, theme and spirit.
