Two hospitalized after Schaumburg Road crash
All lanes of Schaumburg Road were closed for three hours Friday afternoon between Knollwood Drive and Barrington Road after two cars collided at Pembroke Drive in Schaumburg a little before 4 p.m.
The driver of one car was trapped and had to be extricated by the Schaumburg Fire Department, police said.
The person was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with serious injuries. Police said the victim was conscious and talking Friday evening.
The second car had three occupants. One was taken to St. Alexius with injuries that weren't life-threatening, police said.
The Schaumburg Police Department crash reconstruction team is conducting an investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is urged to call the police at (847) 882-3534.
