Bears sign WR Aromashodu, put Dvoracek on IR
The Bears on Wednesday signed WR Devin Aromashodu from the Washington Redskins practice squad and placed DT Dusty Dvoracek on injured reserve.
Aromashodu was originally selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round (233rd overall) in the 2006 NFL draft. He has appeared in six regular season games with one start, all with the Indianapolis Colts, hauling in seven receptions for 96 yards (13.7 ypc) with a long of 28. Aromashodu has also appeared in one postseason contest with one catch for 13 yards.
The Auburn product was released by the Dolphins on Sept. 2, 2006, after catching four passes for 33 yards in the preseason. Four days later he was signed to the Colts practice squad where he spent the entire 2006 regular season. Aromashodu was signed in the 2007 offseason by the Colts before being waived/injured on Aug. 7, 2007. He was added to the Texans practice squad on September 18, 2007 before the Colts signed them to their active roster on Nov. 14, 2007. The Colts waived Aromashodu after the 2008 preseason, where he caught six passes for 136 yards (22.7 ypc) and one touchdown, before he was signed to the Washington Redskins practice squad on Sept. 3, 2008.
Dvoracek started 12 games for the Bears this season recording 40 tackles with 6 tackles for losses and a pass breakup.
