Mount Prospect Trustee Hoefert in hospital

Longtime Mount Prospect Trustee Paul Hoefert was reportedly taken to the hospital late Saturday night and remained hospitalized Monday.

Village officials would not release information about his medical condition, in keeping with the wishes of his family.

Hoefert, who is in his early 50s, was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights Saturday night. The hospital confirmed Monday that he is a patient in serious condition.

Mount Prospect Mayor Irvana Wilks said she saw Hoefert at the village's Winter Parade Saturday night. She said he was occupying a float that evening and seemed fine.

"Our prayers go out for his speedy recovery," Wilks said.

Hoefert, who is married with two children, has served on the village board since 1991. He also serves on the board of the Mount Prospect Historical Society. He is a senior vice president with Northern Trust in Chicago.
