Recycle your old wireless phone

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. - Consumers who unwrapped a new wireless phone this holiday season can now donate their no-longer-used wireless phones to Verizon Wireless' HopeLine phone recycling program.

Verizon Wireless, which has its Midwest headquarters in Schaumburg, will collect unwanted wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition, from any wireless service provider, at its 2,600 stores.

Proceeds will be used to provide wireless phones to survivors of domestic violence who are rebuilding their lives or cash grants to local shelters and nonprofit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness. HopeLine is Verizon Wireless' exclusive year-round phone recycling and reuse program.
