Thanks for help in 'Hope for Isaac'

Just two months ago the greater Wheaton community was introduced to Isaac Wright, an 11-year-old boy whose fight against leukemia inspired us all. In October more than 40 local volunteers went to work planning fundraising activities to assist Isaac's family with expenses related to medical transplant. It was my honor to serve as coordinator of these efforts and to report on our results. On behalf of the Hope for Isaac Campaign and the Wright family, I would like to express enormous gratitude to everyone who gave time, money and encouragement. As of Dec. 15, we raised more than $42,000. The funds will be used to reimburse the Wright family for expenses not covered by health insurance with the first bone marrow transplant and the preparation for a second transplant that did not occur. On Dec. 1, Isaac went to heaven. Although we have great confidence that Isaac is preparing to celebrate his first Christmas with his Lord Jesus, he is deeply missed by family, friends and neighbors. Please keep the Wright family in your thoughts and prayers during this holiday season as they grieve the lost of their son. For those of us who had the privilege to participate in this campaign, we witnessed firsthand the community's outpouring of love and support in very tangible ways. During a period of severe economic recession, people made generous financial donations. There are numerous merchants, service providers and individuals who gave generously of their goods, service and finances. However, there are a few who went out their way that I'd like to mention: Tate's Ice Cream, AlphaGraphics Printing, Wheaton Grand Theatre Corporation, Time-Stand-Still Studio, Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) During the hustle of the holiday season, it is encouraging to see a community come together. Thanks to everyone who participated in big and small ways.
